Wikis

Wanted to have 'a go' at these Wikis - not quite sure if I will be able to use it, but am thinking they could be useful for tutorials/instructions to integrate into a web page. Have to see how it all works. Set a Wiki up @ Pbwiki, I will try and get it to become part of this blog! Here goes...
Well, so much for that! Already lost where I put my wiki ;-] !!! Have run out of time, so will have to get back to it at a later stage...
Hooray, found it : http://fransblog.pbwiki.com/?pwd=DLJX2mTKi5 - NOW... how do I get it in here???

Tagging / Perspectives, etc.

Well, had a look at the 'tagging'... I don't think that it is very relevant to me at present, maybe at some later stage when I can spend some more time. I think so far one of the more frustrating issues has been that it does take quite a lot of time to go through all the links and recommended reading etc. There are just not enough hours in the day for me.
Havng said that, I suppose it also depends on whether something grabs your attention:
eg. I did read a lot of the "Perspective" pages. Found quite a lot of interesting bits there! Liked the Icbergs, think a link "Check nearby Libraries" a great idea and definitely want to spend some more time reading these pages.

Rollyo

Don't know whether I will be using this Rollyo Thing, but at least I know now what it is about. Set up a small one just to see how it goes...

LibraryThing

Now this is a fun thing! I can catalogue my home bookshelf! Started to find some titles, will definitely follow this one up...

Generators

Had fun playing with the various generators. Came in quite handy for our "NewsVember" Newspaper Primary School Activity. Accessed http://www.glassgiant.com/ and used their "Wanted Poster" as a template for an entry on a newspaper page.

For the first one I used my Yahoo Avatar as add-on picture, but the children could use a photo of themselves or chose their own clipart / picture. The example I gave them was one with the ALIA cybrarian picture.

I'm Back!!

Well, at last- after umpteen attemps to try and keep up with this Learning 2.0 caper, I finally managed to have another go at it! One of the big stumbling blocks was the big gaps between log-ins and my overloaded brain not remembering which one - of the many - login/passwords I needed to use. Passwords and logins are as far as I'm concerned the biggest headache in this area. Would be great if someone can come up with a solution - fingerprints / eye scan ? But I suppose that's not quite within our reach. Anyway, on with the fun!

Flickr fun

Found the Flickr section quite easy to complete, as I already had a Flickr account. I use my Flickr account to publish old photos. I am trying to get more information on these, so the challenge is to make sure I put the right "tags" with them. So far I have had quite a bit of success with it, but of course - it's a work in progress!

Getting to know me...

I like cats! This is picture came up on a "Burmese Cat" search and is the spitting image of my cat Mishka. Mishka is 7 years old and quite a character, very vocal and knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it. Eg. A lap to sit on the minute I get home from work, she can't wait 10 minutes until dinner is ready, but wants the lap NOW!

Flickering

I thought I'd share something from my past . I'm the little blondie, surrounded by boys. We were so cute! This photo is also posted on Flickr. It's (obviously!!!) taken a while ago, and I'm trying to fill in the gaps in the names of the children. This was a Montessori Kindergarten in Amsterdam, and it would be just great if anyone can help out - you never know who's browsing Cyberspace!

My Avatar

This is my Avatar that I created for my Yahoo7 360 blog.
Was lots of fun playing around with it all and make it relevant to 'me'. I wonder if it really reflects who I am? Those of you who know me, can tell me if it does...?!

First steps....

Well, here she goes... I'm quite excited about this as I hope to learn quite a bit more from this program. Although I feel fairly comfortable with IT and Internet use, I want to make sure that I keep up with new developments. One of the things I hope to learn more about is sound & video files and how to manipulate them, and what you can do with them.
Let the learning begin!
